Current Project:

Twelve Prints: Photographs from Home

Twelve Prints will mark 'Year One' of the pandemic and the first year I spend at home. One print marks each month. I look to the natural world around me to uncover a conversation, both through photography and journal writing. The resulting body of work will be accompanied by the book, Twelve Prints, and will also include my journal writings, past and present.

Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), was one of my first mentors in photography. We met while I was still in high school. She famously said: “There is a photograph in every room.” Expanding on this there is also a photograph in every backyard. One only has to see it. And so I begin looking at the ordinary to discover the hidden and extraordinary and uncover a conversation with the Natural World for the first Faces of Nature Project.

Welcome to the journey,

Elisabeth Sunday
